About blogging
The ‘blogosphere’ is a community of internet users sharing information and ideas through web-based platforms known as ‘blogs.’
Associated with the term is the idea that blogs are all somehow interconnected to form part of a wider blogging community, or social network. It is these communities that facilitate rapidly spreading viral content on the internet and new cultural phenomena, known as ‘memes’.
These notions do not, of course, preclude the realisation that blogs form part of the wider online community themselves, and are subject to its influence.
The term ‘Blogosphere’ is often prefixed with another term, for example, ‘the fashion blogosphere’. This is because certain sections of the blogosphere tend to involve people with contiguous interests which are not necessarily shared by the wider whole.
A Conservative Party blogosphere already exists through the networking of ConservativeHome, and Clear Blue Water Conservatives will add to that weight through you, the bloggers.
Start your own blog
Most of us have heard of political blogs in some way, whether it is through an active interest, or simply via the mainstream media.
Clear Blue Water Conservatives encourages all and any Conservative Party supporting people to start one, but we appreciate that for some, this can be galling. Others simply want more information.
LabourList decided to commision a PDF guide to starting your own blog, which has been written by current Labour blogger Tom Miller.
